Upload main image here: ![]() Billy Davies was in charge when I was at Derby and he deserves a chance at Forest ![]() ![]() | Now that we´ve had a few days of good training we´ve had more time to reflect on the Norwich defeat. I´m still not happy about it but I do feel better after a few double training sessions. No-one wants to lose 4-0 but if it has to happen, perhaps it was at the right time. We´re just past the halfway mark of the season so if it does give us the kick up the backside we needed I´d prefer to have it now, rather than at the end of the season. We never go out with the intention of losing. Let´s just hope that we can finish the second half of the campaign in a strong way. I hope that´s the way it works out but there´s no way of knowing until we see what kind of a reaction the players give in our next two games. We´ve got tough ones coming up against Ipswich and Bristol City and ideally we´ll take six points from the two fixtures. I certainly think Billy Davies is the right man if Forest want to go into the Premier League![]() It´s the FA Cup this weekend and, as we´re not involved any more, we´ve got a weekend off. Well, it´s not exactly having the weekend off because I can assure you we won´t rest. We are going to be training really hard for Tuesday´s game and we´ll probably try and catch the game between Ipswich and Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Hopefully it´ll be a bit of a battle and Ipswich will have some tired legs come Tuesday. I´ve been meaning to mention how great it is to see Billy Davies back into management with the job at Nottingham Forest. He was my manager at Derby of course and he deserves a job at a club like that with so much potential. He´s already started to turn things around and he´s got a young team with lots of legs and energy. He´ll probably bring one or two experienced old heads in too. I certainly think they have got the right man if they want Forest to go into the Premier League and I´m sure you´ll see them go onto bigger things under his tutelage. Only time will tell but already he´s had two wins out of two so what more can you ask for?! He´s got an interesting game against Derby this evening and I´ll be watching that one for sure.
