I´m thrilled for Barack Obama

Barack Obama´s inauguration heralds the start of
exciting times
I´m feeling excited about the inauguration of Barack Obama in the Unites States today. It´s one of the huge historical moments of our time and I can´t wait to hear his thoughts and plans over the coming weeks. The world has a lot of expectation for Obama and the changes could be massive. Following the inauguration in Washington it will be interesting to see what unfolds day-by-day, as he´s promised big changes that will affect the whole world. It´s exciting times for the modern world.

I wish I could say I felt as positive about the way things went at the weekend but I don’t. We were beaten 4-0 by Norwich and it was a complete hammering. After an hour it was still 0-0 but we weren’t playing well at all - that’s the disappointing thing. When the first goal went in we just crumbled. With all due respect to them, it wasn’t that we were beaten by great pieces of skill, we weren´t mentally prepared and we were beaten by a team that tried harder than us. That makes it a bitter pill to swallow.

Anger and disappointment are an understatement for how the gaffer felt afterwards and we all know that a result like that, and a performance like the one we gave in the second-half can´t happen again. It was unacceptable. That’s what has come out of the defeat - these games come along to give you a kick up the backside and to tell you that you aren’t as good as you think you are and we need to learn from it.

The thing is, we came through the Christmas and New Year period and did well against Burnley and Preston. Then we face so-called bottom-of-the-table teams in Southampton and Norwich and come out with no points! It just goes to show that there is a thin line between the teams at the top and the bottom in this league. Hopefully we will learn from that and start a run on Tuesday against Ipswich.

Anyway, after a double training session today I feel a lot better. We´ve started to do some work to put things right and prepare for the next game.

I´ll be back towards the end of the week with a look at the Ipswich game.

Cheers for visiting the site, Mooro
